What was created?

Educational game Termalko on a Mission: The Green World

A mobile educational game that takes visitors across seven locations, where Termalko playfully reveals the natural, cultural, and historical treasures of Cerkno. The game has a defined start and finish, while the remaining checkpoints can be visited in any order. To unlock the final challenge and win a symbolic reward, players must successfully complete the first six missions.

A New Digital Adventure in Cerkno

Alongside the long-standing physical experience Termalko’s Adventure, Cerkno has now gained its digital twin — Termalko on a Mission: The Green World.
This playful mobile app allows visitors to explore Cerkno’s natural and cultural heritage through interactive challenges and gamified learning.

Storyline

After 300 million years, our hero Termalko has awakened — and he’s not happy!
He noticed that humans no longer take good care of the planet as they once did. Determined to change that, he sets out on a mission to make the world green again — but he can’t do it alone!

Across the Cerkno region, seven forgotten messages await.
Join Termalko on his mission, solve all the challenges, uncover the seven clues, and help him make our planet beautiful, clean, and green once more.

Gameplay and Challenges

The app includes seven locations and seven challenges:

  1. Assemble Termalko (TIC Cerkno) – Piece together an image of Termalko to begin your journey through Cerkno.
  2. Stone Tower (Brdce) – Build a tower of at least ten stones. If three fall before completion, start again!
  3. Sharp Eye (Cerkljanski Museum) – Recreate three traditional laufar masks from memory after they briefly appear on screen.
  4. Depth of Mind (Borehole) – Answer five quiz questions about Cerkno’s landmarks. You need at least three correct to continue.
  5. Fast Fingers (Geosonde Field) – Collect at least 15 stone bolts by tapping them within 30 seconds.
  6. Where Are They Hiding? (Primary School Cerkno) – Find five iconic Cerkno objects that appear briefly on screen.
  7. Memory (Terme Cerkno) – Match six pairs of images summarizing the entire adventure.

 

At the end, players can read about additional Cerkno traditions and nearby attractions.

Those who complete the full game are rewarded with a special symbolic prize — but to discover what it is, you’ll have to visit Cerkno and meet Termalko in person!
